What is the difference between live tooling and Swiss lathe turning?

A live tooling lathe holds the bar stationary in a chuck while powered tools cut secondary features like cross holes, flats and slots without moving the part to a second machine. A Swiss lathe feeds the bar through a guide bushing so the cutting tool sits close to the point of support, which controls deflection on long, thin parts.
