Sango Metal Bending Workshop

Metal bending transforms flat sheets into 3D shapes through precision force application, using advanced machinery to enforce bends at designated angles. Before bending, the flat sheet is prepared using high-precision fiber laser cutting.

At Sango, our process leverages high-tonnage equipment capable of exerting up to 1,000 tons to handle sheet lengths up to 7,200mm. Each bend is executed with exact punch and die molds ranging from R0.5 to R50, ensuring accuracy with tolerances down to ±0.1mm.

Metal Bending Materials

Aluminum

Aluminum Sheet Bending

Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, aluminum is ideal for aerospace brackets and electronics chassis. We form Aluminum 5052-H32 (excellent formability with zero cracking), 5083, and 6061-T4/T6 (with appropriate bend radii).

Heat Treatment & Annealing

Heat Treatment & Annealing

Stress relieving post-bend to eliminate work hardening and restore maximum ductility.

Key Manufacturing Advantages

Cost & Assembly Efficiency

Eliminates multiple welds, fasteners, and manual joints, reducing assembly hours and bill-of-materials complexity.

Enhanced Structural Strength

Continuous bent corners work-harden the metal along the bend axis, increasing stiffness without adding weight.

High Dimensional Repeatability

CNC backgauges and laser crowning ensure tight angular accuracy (±0.5°) across thousands of production units.

Aesthetic Appeal

Seamless rounded transitions, flush seams, and clean industrial contours create premium finished products.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a general DFM rule of thumb, the internal bend radius should be equal to or greater than the material thickness (R ≥ 1T) to prevent outer surface cracking. For ductile aluminum 5052, radii as tight as R0.5T can be achieved.
