Table Model Indexer (DT)

Details:

The Sango DT series table model cam indexer is a heavy duty rotary indexing table with a stationary center platform and a large rotating output flange. It carries large dial plates and heavy tooling on multi station assembly machines. The fixed center gives you a rigid mounting point that stays still while the dial turns.

A preloaded globoidal cam and roller turret deliver smooth indexing with no backlash and positive mechanical locking at every station. The result is a high rigidity turntable drive that holds position under pressing, riveting and welding forces without a brake.

How the Table Model Indexer (DT) Works

\. How It Works

A motor turns the input shaft continuously. The globoidal cam drives a roller turret connected to the output flange. The turret advances one station during the indexing portion of the cam and locks in place during the dwell portion, which is when your process runs.

The output flange rotates around a raised center platform that never turns. Mount your dial plate on the flange. Mount fixed fixtures, pneumatic manifolds, presses or inspection cameras on the center. A large hollow bore runs through the platform, so lines feeding the center tooling route through the middle and never twist with the dial.

DT frame sizes are named by the center distance between the input and output shafts. Eight standard frames run from 80DT up to 450DT, covering everything from compact dial machines to heavy transfer tables with high moment loads.

Why machine builders specify it

Six characteristics that come from the cam profile rather than from control software.

Stationary Center Platform

The raised center stays fixed while the dial turns. It gives a rigid, on axis base for pick and place units, presses, cameras and central tooling.

Large Dial Plate Capacity

A wide output flange and heavy bearing support carry large diameter dial plates and multiple fixtures without tilt or runout.

High Axial and Moment Load Support

The output handles strong downward forces and off center loads from riveting, staking, ultrasonic welding and press fit stations.

Zero Backlash Globoidal Cam

Preloaded rollers stay in contact with the cam through every index and dwell, so each station stops in the same place, cycle after cycle.

Hollow Bore Utility Routing

Air, vacuum, hydraulic and signal lines run through the center to the fixed tooling. The machine deck stays clean and cables stay protected.

Complete Drive Package

Order the indexer alone or matched with a gear motor, brake motor or servo, overload clutch, cam switch and mounting base, tested as one unit.

Models and load ratings

Four output styles across 31 frame sizes. Pick the output first, then size on torque and moment.

All figures at 20 °C, ISO VG 220 oil fill.

Six mounting orientations

The same frame can be bolted base-down, wall mounted or inverted, and the motor can sit above, behind or in line. Quote the code with your order so the unit ships with the oil level and breather set for that orientation.

Industries That Use Cam Indexing Drives

\. Applications H2: Machines That Use the Table Model Indexer The DT series is a common choice for rotary dial machines with heavy tooling or many stations. Typical uses include automotive component assembly, motor and stator assembly, ultrasonic welding machines, face mask and medical consumable lines, battery module assembly, valve and fitting assembly, packaging turrets, and inspection dials with cameras fixed on the center. Tell us your dial size, number of stations and the heaviest force applied at any station, and we will size the drive and motor for you.

Everything you need to know about our cam indexers, lead times, warranties and engineering services.

What is a table model cam indexer used for?

A table model cam indexer rotates a large dial plate through fixed stations on assembly, welding, packaging and inspection machines. Its stationary center platform lets you mount tools on the axis, and the output flange supports heavy dials and strong downward process forces.
